Here is an early Bell Helmets Star 120. It was called a 120 because of the degree of peripheral vision it allowed. As you can see there is three button snaps for a visor and no pivot point for a shield.
These were the first full coverage helmets widely adopted by motocrossers. A duck bill visor, a pair of Carreras and a tape job on the helmet and you were ready to go.
